BRIEF

Design the user experience and the identity of a new showroom where the CEA (Center of Atomic Energy) and its new partners from Saclay present their most recent technologies and inventions to guests

The showroom is not autonomous as there is always an organizer present to present the different technologies to guests. The organizer is not necessarily from CEA but a partner company

OUTCOME

An immersive experience through smooth transitions during the visit that is easy to manipulate for organizers and an adaptive identity that represent all the partners participating in the showroom

OBSERVATIONS

An organizer took the time to guide us through a visit in order to do our on-field observation. This is what caught our attention:

The interfaces used to present technologies were not representative of the advanced technologies that were exposed and the progressiveness of the company.

THE BRAND

The showroom is named COSMO・S in order to represent the universe of Saclay with various actors creating a strong unity. The logo is a bubble that transforms its shape constantly but also its colors (inspired by the colors of space: blue, purple, orange and pink).

It adapts to the various partners of the showroom as seen below:

THE EXPERIENCE

THE BACK-END

In order to prepare himself, the organizer can see on his iPad his schedule, the number of guests, how much time they will stay. He will then select the technologies that will interest the guests to fit to the time of the visit.

To make the visuals of a technology appear on the big screen, the organizer will take a miniature of the technology with a NFC integrated and put it on a captor base. The miniature will then light up and the big screen will show the visuals associated with the technology; the organizer can use his iPad to navigate through different visuals.

WHAT I LIKED

I enjoyed bringing out amazing technologies and creating a fun dynamic experience for both the visitor and the guide. I also enjoyed our multi-disciplinary group with different expertise that was enrichful.

GAINED SKILLS

I learned to combine branding design methodology with experience design methodology.  I improved my animation skills in After Effect and Adobe Xd.

ROLE AND TOOLS

I was in charge of the interfaces, scenario, animations and videos (and some visuals). Research, conception, branding and presenting done as a team. 3D rendering done by Emilie Desegaulx de Nolet. Icons and visuals done by Margaux Monin. Presentation done by Emilie and myself.
