BRIEF

How can we use augmented reality and an artificial intelligence in order to help industrial companies in their daily work?

OUTCOME

An AR program with an AI integrated that helps employees in the brainstorming process and achieve to their goals

OBSERVATIONS

We first researched how industrial company processes for a development of a product. There are 8 different steps and brainstorming is often used during these steps. Either they are used to generate ideas and strategies or to solve problems during the process.

It seemed brainstorming is a used quite often but isn’t always efficient as it should be. So we researched each step as well as different actors to find some pain points and some opportunities.

CONCEPT

Augmented reality:

For AR glasses, it is more intuitive to have a surface where you can manipulate different elements rather than manipulating in the void. So we decided to use a specific table that has two surfaces (or use simply a table against a wall) in order to have a 3 dimension visualisation and interaction. Here how it works:

This process will take place during the “storm” step, the “brain” step and also the “validation” step. Without validation at the end of each step, the team cannot go to the next step.

Artificial intelligence:

The AI will take the role of the moderator, the script and the timekeeper. It will give some tools to help the participants but will only intervene when needed. It will be represented as a green line around the table that vibrates when speaking.

WHAT I LIKED

We had so much fun doing this project! Analyzing brainstorming was really interesting and we implemented our analysis/ideas through our design process.

GAINED SKILLS

I learned to make an understandable AR user scenario with crafted gifs in a very short amount of time. Sometimes you just have to go straight to the point!

ROLE AND TOOLS

I was in charge of animation with Paul-Émile Caillard, interface design and presentation. Observation visuals done by Agathe Baudin. Research, conception, drawings, photography and presenting done as a team.
